Being part of a group who has been in the polymers industry for over sixty years; Evertis counts on a wealth of expertise and know-how. As a result of the close collaboration between our production sites in Brazil, Mexico, and Portugal, we share our global experience to provide customers with products that are one step ahead. Additionally, under the IMG Group, we partner with our sister company Selenis who produces PET based specialty resins. This gives us additional advantages and access to the development of our main raw materials.

At Evertis we are centered on innovation through more environmentally responsible packaging. Our R&D experts and Sustainability Committee  continuously seek more sustainable and recyclable films, demonstrating our philosophy based on driving technology and innovation towards a sustainable portfolio.

Investments in advanced machines allied with rigorous quality control mechanisms ensure our products have excellent physical and mechanical properties. We constantly search for new technology, enabling us to take an active role in the development of extrusion lines for processing PET.  Anticipating and commercialising technology is of great importance to ensure innovative, cost effective quality products.

Coextrusion allows us to combine various materials with an extensive range of properties into new formulations. At our in-house laboratories we use state-of-the-art technology to test samples of new formulations and guarantee they meet customers’ needs and assure film properties are up to specification.

The Evertis ECOSEAL™ line of products features recyclable APET films with enhanced sealing capabilities. The perfect solution for a fully recyclable APET mono-material packaging tray. IR BLACK

Evertis IR Black products are tailor-made monolayer or multilayer films that are formulated with an IR Black masterbatch, a more sustainable alternative to standard carbon black pigments that are non-detectable in sorting technology at recycling facilities. Evertis films with NIR black improve the recyclability of materials and packaging and therefore achieve a solution for a circular economy.

WE GIVE PET TRAYS A SECOND LIFE

Evertis Ibérica, our industrial site in Portugal, obtained the ECOSENSE Certificate on July 2019, adding value to our products and contributing to an increasingly transparent European plastic industry.  The ECOSENSE Certificate is granted by the ECOSENSE FOUNDATION.

Evertis buys and incorporates post-industrial and post-consumer multilayer PET and reintroduce recycled PET from delamination processes as secondary raw material in our production processes of manufacture of film.

QUALITY CONTROL, CERTIFICATIONS & REGULATIONS

All of our products are subject to strict and exhaustive quality tests at our in-house laboratories. Our industrial units count on regular maintenance and modernization to assure consistent, high quality of our products.

At Evertis we are cautious when selecting raw materials to guarantee the highest quality of our products. The global partnerships we have created with major raw materials and machine producers, allow our experts to maintain close contact with our raw material suppliers.

Evertis films comply with several regulatory codes and have been accredited with the following quality certificates:

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CERTIFICATION

Evertis is currently in the process of obtaining the Environmental Management System certification according to the ISO 14001:2015 standard, in the scope of the production of mono and multilayer plastic films (PET, PET/PE and PET/Barrier Film) by PET extrusion and water-based lamination for food packaging applications and products in general.

Additionally Evertis is in the process of acquiring the same certificate in the scope of the production of PET flake for the transforming industry, through the valorisation of waste.

The investment project aimed at producing a film based on Polyethylene Terephthalate ("PET") for use in Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE"), namely as a protective barrier on visors, masks with visors and goggles, items that are essential in combating the COVID-19 virus. To enable this new application, the film must be extruded from an improved PET resin, in order to obtain superior characteristics of transparency, crystallinity, mechanical resistance and chemical resistance to disinfectant products among others.

The investment included the installation of a new production line, technologically designed to allow the extrusion of film with the characteristics mentioned above, presenting a theoretical productive capacity of 12,000 tons per year (expected to result in an effective capacity of 11,000 tons per year).

Project FCOMP-02-0203-FEDER-013246 is of structural importance to the continuation of the Company’s activity, specifically the strategy to diversify its markets through the acquisition of various pieces of production line equipment that will allow for significant improvements, both qualitative and quantitative, to the product range, consolidating the company’s position on the European market in PET-based plastic film.

The investments made in the project are based on a strategic analysis of the company’s strengths and weaknesses, and recognised threats and opportunities in the external environment. The strategic objectives to be reached with this project were quantified clearly and objectively.
