(Portalegre, Portugal, 8th October), Evercare®, Evertis’ healthcare packaging brand, can proudly announce it has won the 2025 DuPont™ Tyvek® Sustainable Healthcare Packaging Award for Packaging (re)design category. The Tyvek® Sustainable Healthcare Packaging Awards is a program that recognizes sustainable innovation throughout the healthcare packaging life cycle. The Packaging (re)design category highlights new approaches that incorporate sustainable materials and processes without compromising patient safety or regulatory compliance.
Evercare®, a brand built on more than 65 years of PET and PETG expertise from Evercare®, introduced the Evercare® Endurance R50 film, an innovative medical-grade packaging material containing up to 50% advanced post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. When paired with Tyvek® lidding, this breakthrough solution delivers the same performance as virgin materials while reducing environmental impact.
“This is an exciting milestone for the us, and the Evercare® brand, as an industry first gets recognized for driving innovation in sustainability. We developed the Endurance R50 film using advanced recycling depolymerization technology supplied by sister company Selenis, ensuring a consistent, medical-grade supply chain with full traceability. The film offers comparable thermoforming, sealing and barrier performance to virgin PETG while meeting regulatory compliance.” says Olivier Brun, Evercare EMEA.
“Through the rigorous testing process, we knew that when paired with Tyvek®, Endurance R50 creates a sterile barrier packaging that will reduce reliance on virgin fossil fuel-based plastics, and when compared to standard PETG Life Cycle Assessment data confirms a 47% reduction in carbon footprint – supporting the industry to future-proof packaging against evolving regulations.” says Cláudia Gandum, Evercare Product and Regulatory Affairs.
By incorporating up to 50% PCR advanced depolymerized recycled content into healthcare packaging films and ensuring seamless compatibility with Tyvek®, Evercare® has delivered an industry-first solution that advances both performance and sustainability. This breakthrough demonstrates how healthcare packaging can evolve toward a circular economy without compromising patient safety.
For this achievement, Evercare® was named the 2025 DuPont™ Tyvek® Sustainable Healthcare Packaging Award winner in the Packaging (re)design category.
Reduction in environmental pollution and emissions as waste is reused
