Evertis IR Black is a carbon-black-free film technology, formulated with a black masterbatch that near-infrared (NIR) sorting equipment can detect. Standard carbon-black packaging passes sorting undetected and ends up in mixed polymer streams.COTREP validated IR Black as detectable and classified it as recyclable, so a black tray stays in the PET recycling stream.The technology runs across the Evertis range, including the Epack™, Esafe™ and Eblock™ grades and the skin-packaging (SK) variants, in medium or high barrier. It is food-contact approved and suited to modified atmosphere packaging, vacuum packaging and high-pressure processing.
